Permanent Outdoor Dining Program

Our team’s mission is to introduce a holistic street approach, as a response to the open restaurants call during the pandemic, so the new outdoor dining areas could act as both restaurant and park giving the public and restaurant owners flexibility in how they use their shared street scape.

We use a dynamic kit of parts, driven by a commitment to enhance community engagement and to be environmentally consciousness. The city would provide this standard catalog of parts to restaurant owners and they can pick what they would like while organizing the pieces to create custom designs suited to their businesses.

Our proposal includes transparent frames that offer unobstructed views, transforming from barriers to urban furniture, and fostering connections between storefronts, restaurants, and the public. We prioritize affordability, promoting accessibility for restaurants, encourage social engagement between private and public realms, and leverage innovative materials and technologies for sustainability, contributing to a more vibrant and environmentally conscious urban environment.
